Donizetti’s ‘La Favorite’ at the Bayerische Staatsoper
Matthew Polenzani sings Fernand in Donizetti’s La Favorite, this autumn at the Bayerische Staatsoper. The performances, conducted by Karel Mark Chichon, also feature Elīna Garanča as Léonor de Guzman and Mariusz Kwiecien as Alphonse XI, in a revival production staged by Amélie Niemeyer. Mr. Polenzani stars as Fernand on October 23, 28 & 31 and November 3, 6 & 9 (please note several dates are now sold-out) and reunites with the cast and creative team for additional performances on July 26 & 29, 2017.
The opening night performance (October 23) will also receive a radio broadcast via BR-Klassik.
