Don José in Munich
After his role debut was characterized by Seen and Heard International as “an unalloyed success”, Matthew Polenzani reprises the role of Don José in Bizet’s Carmen at the Bayerische Staatsoper on January 17, 20, 24 and 26. Joining him are Varduhi Abrahamyan in the title role, Golda Schultz and Ekaterina Siurina share the role of Micaëla, and Alexander Vinogradov sings Escamillo.
He then makes his debut at the Tucson Desert Song Festival singing a recital with pianist Christopher Cano on January 31.
