La Favorite in Munich
Matthew Polenzani stars as Fernand in Donizetti’s gran opera, La Favorite, at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. Clémentine Margaine is Léonor de Guzman and Ludovic Tézier sings Alphonse XI. Giacomo Sagripanti conducts the Amélie Niermeyer production on February 25 and 28, and March 3.
Mr. Polenzani is reprising the role in Munich after performances in 2016, when his Fernand was acclaimed as “a revelation” (Operawire). One of those performances was recorded and is available for purchase in DVD and Blu-ray.
