Role debut as Rodolfo in Luisa Miller
On April 12 – 29, Matthew Polenzani makes his debut as Rodolfo in Verdi’s Luisa Miller at the Zurich Opera House. The title role will be sung by Nino Machaidze and the celebrated Leo Nucci sings the role of father Miller. Riccardo Frizza conducts.
Mr. Polenzani most recent success in a Verdi role was as the Duke in Rigoletto. The Chicago Tribune published this about his performance: “Polenzani sang the serial seducer so impeccably and played him so passionately as to turn his severe character flaws into charming positives.”
