Bizet: Les Pêcheurs de perles on Blu-ray & DVD from The Metropolitan Opera
Matthew Polenzani’s “poignently believable” (The New York Times) performance as Nadir in a new Metropolitan Opera production of Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de perles can now be enjoyed on a new Met Opera / Erato Blu-ray & DVD release, available for pre-order immediately & for purchase on February 24 (Amazon.com). The cast includes Diana Damrau as the priestess Leïla, Mariusz Kwiecień sings Zurga, and Nicolas Testé is Nourabad. Gianandrea Noseda leads the Met Opera Orchestra on this recording, with a premiere staging from director Penny Woolcock.
