Role debut as Macduff in New York City
To start the season, Matthew Polenzani makes his role debut as Macduff in Verdi’s gripping Shakespeare adaptation of Macbeth at The Metropolitan Opera. Verdi’s tenth opera, it was the first Shakespeare play he adapted for the operatic stage.
Adrian Noble’s evocative production premiered in 2007. Marco Armiliato conducts the performances from September 25 – October 12.
